ABOUT BLAKE HOUSTON HOMES

Blake Houston Homes started in 2004, when Blake Houston decided to focus his efforts and attention on building fine homes in the core of Austin. Five years prior to starting Blake Houston Homes, Blake was the Chief Operating Officer for a large builder in Austin, Texas. From 1992 until 2001, he held the position of Chief Financial Officer with the company along with many other roles that garnered several awards. Blake was responsible for all product design, advertising, marketing, sales management, systems design, land management and acquisition, financial management, and business planning. Together with his team Mr. Houston built over 1,550 homes in the Austin area.

Originally from Dallas, Texas, Blake Houston came to Austin to attend the University of Texas to study Finance and Marketing at the business school and like most people who come to Austin, decided to call it his home. During his senior year at The University of Texas, Blake met his wife Courtney. Blake and Courtney have been married since 1996, they have two boys and are active in their community. Courtney serves as the Executive Director of the West Austin Youth Association in Central Austin.

Blake brings his vast past experience to each new project. The challenges and victories of the past will help to shine a way through the sometimes crazy process of new home construction. Houston likes to say that "every home building project is like a trip to the store; sometimes, they are quick, often times they are not. Knowing that every item you put into your cart affects the other; will help guide you in bringing your "trip" in under budget, on time, and with the best long term results."

Houston believes that "every homebuilder has the same basic tool categories to begin with, Location, Design, Features, and People. You have heard it for years, Location Location Location. This is what I love most about what I do. I truly love building in Central Austin. The best thing that I can do for Austin's environment is to build near the core of downtown. I truly support the notion of a compact city. Design, is what makes each home interesting and individualistic. Features, are of course everything that goes into the home (the stuff in the shopping cart). More than anything else however; it is the people who are the most important to the process. The people are the ones who put it all together, and then stand behind it and warrant it. These four tools, are also the things that make our homeowners unique: because of where they choose to live; the design they selected; the features they had to have; and of course the people, who are always so unique and can only make a house a home."
